Maria Isabel do Prado Bocater

Maria Isabel do Prado Bocater holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ (1976), and a Master’s Degree in Corporation Law New York University (1982).

She has practiced Corporate Law and Capital Markets for the last 20 years.

She was Commissioner of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) for six and a half years, after having held the positions of lawyer, manager, and Legal Superintendent of this Commission. She also served as an alternate member of the Conselho de Recursos do Sistema Financeiro Nacional (National Financial System Appeals Board).

She has given lectures at various seminars, covering topics relating to legislation applicable to publicly-held companies and to the securities market. She is the author of several articles published in specialized journals and magazines.
