Jaques Marcio Wurman

Bachelor of Law, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (1995). MBA in Business Law – IAG Master, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUCRio (1996).

For seven years, Jaques Wurman was a member of a law firm specializing in business law, as an associate lawyer and then as partner, coordinating company acquisition and due diligence projects, in addition to providing legal advice to Brazilian and foreign companies various sectors, especially in the contracts and corporate fields. He has also participated in privatization projects for national companies, bidding processes, and structuring of the largest hotel complex in the country.

He was a Federal Attorney for the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), representing the Commission in the courts, in administrative proceedings and inquiry commissions, and in legal reviews of transactions involving the corporate actions of publicly-held companies and market participants.

Jaques was a member of the Legal Department at Banco Pactual S/A, focusing on corporate finance transactions.

He joined the Firm in 2002, actively participating since then in various corporate transactions involving the defense of minority and controlling shareholders’ interests in publicly-held companies, and the acquisition of material holdings in Brazil and abroad. He has also been handling administrative proceedings for the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission and the Conselho de Recursos do Sistema Financeiro Nacional (Appeals Council for the National Financial System) and advises on issues involving publicly-held companies, asset managers, investment funds (vehicles for real estate, private equity and venture capital transactions), including their structuring and advice on investment and divestiture of assets, in addition to corporate conflicts.
