Our partners Francisco da Costa e Silva and Mauricio Jayme e Silva commented in Valor Econômico reports on recent Federal Police operations that revealed weaknesses in the national financial system.

Costa e Silva emphasised in his statement that he fears the scenario will be used to attack the CVM and stated that the system is flawed, but that crises reveal these gaps and lead to improvements in supervision and regulation.

Maurício assessed that the entire scheme reveals more about the Central Bank’s failures in supervising, inspecting and monitoring payment institutions.
