Our partner Matheus Corredato Rossi spoke with Valor Econômico about the liquidation of Banco Master and Master Corretora in a report that addressed the fate of the 55 investment funds under the brokerage’s fiduciary management, which must either find new managers or cease operations, as provided for in the CVM rule governing such cases, according to the newspaper.
In the article, Matheus emphasized that the funds’ assets are not to be confused with those of the administrator. According to him, although the liquidator may suggest the liquidation of the fund, in practice, the tendency is for continuity: “It is not a case of decreeing the liquidation of the fund, which has nothing to do with the situation of the administrator.”
He also stated that the Central Bank of Brazil has already appointed the liquidator in the decree itself and that the CVM only takes direct action if there is a formal request.
