Flavio Martins Rodrigues talks about how excessive regulation harms EFPCs

Our partner Flavio Martins Rodrigues analyzes, in an article published in the magazine Investidor Institucional, how excessive regulation has limited the offer of new plans by pension funds and even indicated the employers’ intention to withdraw sponsorship.

According to him, state intervention, especially through regulation, is very different for pension funds and open entities. “For pension funds, there are strict criteria for filling management positions (certification and qualification), for setting up new plans, for changing plan regulations, for administrative management, etc. On the other hand, the management of open entities is quite simplified, with all sorts of facilitating elements.”
