As part of our internal training programme, Bocater Advogados recently organised a course on actuarial science applied to supplementary pensions for our associates and trainees.

The course, held over three mornings in March, took place in person at our São Paulo office, with a live stream to our Rio de Janeiro office. The course was delivered by the team at Conde Consultoria Atuarial.

The main topics discussed over the three days were ‘fundamentals and data’, ‘actuarial valuation and risk management’ and ‘practical applications and trends’. Among the topics discussed were the financial mathematics essential for the interpretation, governance and quality of actuarial data; the fundamentals of actuarial valuation; calculation regimes and methods; financial projections; expert testimony in a judicial context; the calculation of compensation and the analysis of future risks; as well as trends, regulation and challenges.
