In recent weeks, the articles of association were signed for Associação Criança Mais, an organisation set up to support and strengthen the activities carried out by the Martagão Gesteira Institute of Childcare and Paediatrics (IPPMG/UFRJ), one of Brazil’s leading centres for paediatrics and specialist childcare. Bocater Advogados provided pro bono legal services for this case.
The IPPMG forms part of the hospital complex of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and provides care for children aged 0 to 13 who require medium- and high-complexity care. With a recognised track record in the areas of healthcare, teaching, research and community outreach, the Institute’s mission is to provide specialised care characterised by technical excellence, ethical standards and a humanised approach, in line with the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS).
The Criança Mais Association was established with the aim of promoting academic, scientific and social integration amongst staff, lecturers, researchers, healthcare professionals, students and other supporters of the Institute, encouraging the development of projects focused on education, research, university outreach and patient-centred care in the field of maternal and child health. The initiative aims to bring together efforts from civil society to strengthen the IPPMG institutionally, helping to expand its capacity to develop projects with social, scientific and care-related impact for the children and adolescents served by the institution.
We at Bocater are proud to have the opportunity to be involved in high-impact projects such as this one.
