Our Information Technology Manager, Eduardo M., represented Bocater Advogados at “Mind The Sec”, Latin America’s largest cybersecurity and information security event.

The conference, held between 15 and 17 September at the Transamérica Expo Centre in São Paulo, brought together industry experts and companies for almost 30 hours of sessions addressing the sector’s hottest and most relevant topics.

This was Eduardo’s second time attending the event. The experience gave him insight into the key trends and challenges relating to risk management, data protection and the digital transformation of organisations.

Among the topics that most caught his attention were:

Artificial intelligence: discussions on the secure adoption of AI and the risks arising from the improper sharing of sensitive data.

The human factor: the need to raise awareness amongst users, who remain among the primary targets of cyber threats.

Access and data protection: with a focus on robust authentication, permissions management and incident prevention mechanisms.

Security as a competitive advantage: the growing recognition of information protection as a key factor in building credibility with clients and partners.

According to Eduardo, the insights gained from the 2025 edition have contributed to improvements implemented by the firm over the past year. This year, he says, it has become clear that risk mitigation requires an integrated approach, combining technology, well-structured processes and team engagement.

In the legal sector, this issue takes on even greater significance due to the volume and sensitivity of the data handled on a daily basis. Eduardo’s participation reinforces Bocater’s commitment to continuous professional development, the adoption of best practices and the pursuit of solutions that strengthen information security and the firm’s technological advancement.
