Thiago Araújo works in the area of public law, both in advisory and contentious matters.In the advisory sphere, he advises national, state-owned and private companies, from a wide range of sectors and sizes, on matters ranging from issues before the courts of auditors to complex infrastructure projects.
In litigation, he coordinates strategies and represents clients before administrative and accounting courts and the most varied regulatory bodies.
He has been an attorney for the State of Rio de Janeiro (PGE/RJ) for almost 18 years. He currently heads the legal department of the State Secretariat for Infrastructure and Works of the State Secretariat for Cities and is Coordinator of the Center for Actions before the Court of Auditors of the PGE/RJ. Thiago is also a member of the Arbitration Chamber of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), a professor at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation’s School of Economics (EPGE), a professor on the undergraduate and postgraduate law courses at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro (FGV Direito Rio) and coordinator of the Postgraduate Program at the PGE’s School of Public Advocacy (ESAP), with numerous articles published in Brazil and abroad.
He is also the author of “Análise Econômica do Direito no Brasil – Uma leitura à luz da Teoria dos Sistemas” (Economic Analysis of Law in Brazil – A reading in the light of Systems Theory), published by Editora Lumen Juris.
