On 17 September at 7.00 pm, our lawyers Ana Luiza Moerbeck and Felipe Neves will be launching their new books at Livraria da Travessa, in Shopping Leblon, Rio de Janeiro; both are published by Editora Thoth.

Entitled “Quem vigia os vigilantes” (Who Watches the Watchers?), Ana Luiza’s book examines disinformation, digital platforms and the limits of regulation. In the book, the author asks: “In an increasingly connected society (…), false or misleading content circulates at an unprecedented speed, influencing public debates, electoral processes, health policies and citizens’ very perception of reality. Against this backdrop, a fundamental question arises: how can we tackle disinformation without compromising freedom of expression and the other fundamental rights that underpin the democratic rule of law?”

Felipe’s book, entitled “Res judicata and adequate representation”, analyses joint litigation in the capital markets. In the book, the author offers a fresh perspective on the issue, with a specific focus on the field of publicly listed companies in the capital markets. The scope of the work is driven by the regulatory changes introduced by Annex I of CVM Resolution No. 80 of 2022.
